How did we make this list?
Firstly, we considered the question, “What is the best cheap electric bike?” which we receive from our readers quite often.
We browsed the internet, read existing reviews and analyzed these bikes. Then we did our research about e-bikes and compared them to the current bikes. By doing that, we found even better cheap electric bikes out there.
We didn’t set the price tag for the word “cheap”. Instead, we considered the bigger picture of the overall value and tried to find the fine line between cheaply built and cheaply priced bikes.
Why trust us?
When writing this review, we contacted the manufacturers for additional information, whenever it was necessary. We put these e-bikes bikes side-by-side and, using our experience, put ourselves in the shoes of the buyers.
Here are the bikes which we would trust to buy and are happy to suggest to others. If you have any questions, let us know and we’ll answer them as soon as we’re back from cycling.

The best thing about this Merax electric bike is that you can use it in two modes — as an e-bike and as a pedelec. Therefore, you can just choose to get some extra juice when things get tough, or you can kick back, relax, and let the e-motor do its thing.
Finally, this electric model by Merax has 7 speeds, disc brakes, nimble 26″ tires, and a sturdy suspension fork. Therefore, it’s ideal for people who are looking at cheap electric bicycles because they want to enjoy the outdoors and the countryside without breaking a sweat.

The IZIP E3 TRLZ budget electric bike has a lot to boast about, apart from the cheap price. IZIP has a long tradition of making cheap e-bikes, so they know how to make a good package that will last for years to come.
As a basis for this model, they used a 7005 alloy frame that makes the bike weigh little even though it has a powerful electric motor that puts out 400W of raw power. Thanks to the upright riding position and the low-positioned battery, this bike is exceptionally stable on any terrain.
You can use it to tackle any hill that you thought was unconquerable before. Other components that will help you do that include an SR Suntour 80 mm fork, a 7-speed Shimano drivetrain, and 27.5″ x 2.25″ tires. When you head back down an adrenaline-inducing descent, you can control your speed with a pair of Tektro mechanical disc brakes.
This IZIP E3 TRLZ looks good and will help you ride longer without any pains and aches. It’s time to break the stereotype that e-bikes are not fun!

The motor has three riding modes, which makes it versatile and suitable for different riders and situations. You can use it in manual mode, pedal-assist mode, and fully electric mode. It’s up to you how much power you want at a given moment.
For the low price you pay for it, you’ll also get a robust front light and a pair of mechanical disc brakes that will have no issues stopping this beast.

Raleigh Tamland iE is the first model on our list and rightfully so. Just look at it! From the first time you set your eyes on this bike, you know that you are dealing with something powerful.
Raleigh’s idea of Tamland iE was to build an electric bike that would be able to conquer demanding surfaces and go fast at the same time. They achieved this successfully thanks to the 650b tires that are 47mm wide and a comfy aluminum frame.
Before I lead you in, I want you to breathe deeply. Road bikes are expensive. Electric bikes are expensive. You can’t find a decent road bike with an electrical motor for a cheap price.
